Prayers

          "God's answer to your prayers will not always be what you expect but keep in mind that it's perfect. It's not easy to trust the Lord when He negates to give you what you so want but it's during this time that Jesus asks, "Do you love me? " Prove your love and trust Christ even if it doesn't make sense. Praise Him through your anger, through your frustration, through the confusion. Don't second guess His work or His plans for you. Trust Him... you will soon see His purpose for your pain. 

"He is working in you. God is helping you obey Him. God is doing what He wants done in you." (Philippians 2:13 NLV)"

This slapped me in the face today. Wow. So challenging. 

Can you honestly say that you will trust and follow the Lord, even if He doesn't give you your heart's desire?

Ten Days of Prayer

        Don't you just love surfing the internet? You're not looking for anything specific, then you come across little gems of wisdom! That was my day today! I came across this wonderful list that I thought I would pass onto my fellow single gals (and you married ones too!).

1.Pray for his relationship with God.

2. Pray that God would bless him.

3. Pray that God would lead him to become the spiritual leader of your (one day) household.

4. Pray that he will love you deeply.

5. Pray that he would have a heart for his children.

6. Pray that he would make wise choices.

7. Pray for his physical, mental and emotional health.

8. Pray that he would be able to resist sexual temptation.

9. Pray that he would prosper at work.

10. Pray that you will show him respect, grace and kindness.

         

         What I think I'm going to do is pray for one of these things each day, then I'll have 10 days of specific prayers for my future Mr.

Any thoughts? 

Single Girl Prayer

              I came across this poem on Facebook the other day, and thought I would share it with you. I totally 'get' what this girl is feeling and what she's going through.

Lord you know my heart, you know every part of me,
Help me to live this life, please fulfill this need.
I have this longing Lord, and you know what I mean,
I'm just praying you'll fill it up, so I can be freed.

Lord, I want your timing, but lately I'm lonely for only you know who.
That longing, that desire, that missing someone, who knows? Only you!

So Lord, I pray he's out there, help me be patient and strong,
Help me to not struggle with this, and help me not to long,
Teach him what he needs to know, help me, Lord, depend on thee.
Help me not to be conceited, and not to depend on me.

Help me to be wise and lead me in your ways.
Help me to trust in only you and follow you all my days.
Somedays are harder than others, but today I feel so alone.
Help me to find my strength in you, and in you to find my home.

If he's not out there, then Lord, my prayer's the same.
Lead me, guide me, help me to feel your love, and trust in Jesus' name.
God I come to you as your child, lead me, make me like you.
Teach me your holy ways O Lord and make me wholly devoted to you.

           WOW! Her words are so honest. I feel the pain she has in her loneliness and her struggle in finding contentment. How does this poem relate to your feelings?
