Let me set the scene for you.
Here I am, bored out of my mind.
So I decide to go through some of my emails that you read, but never really "read".
You know what I saying?
Anyway, I came across this email from Christian Single Women that they sent me a few months back. I marked it so I could find it later on. Weeks went by; I never read it; until today.
The article was sent during the Thanksgiving season, thus it was all about thankfulness. The author of this particular little email shared some little things that she has personally learned about God's character this year. Me, being a person who has devoted 2012 to learning more about my Heavenly Father especially loved hearing what she had to say. If you're interested be sure to check it out.
Her list made me think "what would my list look like?"
Maybe something like this...
1. God is supreme. He holds all things together. (All things Hold Together)
2. God is the epitome of love. He is far more than our human comprehension
of what love is. (Love Revolution)
3. God cares for our hearts and yearns to protect us from harm. Thank
goodness. (Follow Your Heart?)
4. God's answers to my prayers are perfect. It may not be what I wanted, but
it's what I need. (Prayers)
5. God's timing is perfect. Never late, never early.
On a side note, I read a lovely little post from a fellow blogging friend, Hilary. It's entitled Lord Let Me Never Marry. It's beautifully written. Check it out and show her some blog-love.
What would you add to this list?
What has God taught you about His Character?

3 Month Check-In
Hi all! I wanted to share with you what I've learned over the last 3 months in my year of "dating Jesus". In December I felt as though God wanted me to get to know Him better, so this is what I decided my new years resolution to be (missed the details of my resolution? Check it out here: Dating Jesus).
Since the beginning of January I've slightly modified my resolution so I would be able to get more out of what I was learning. In late January, I decided that I would start to write down what exactly I was discovering about my Heavenly Father.I found that this was extremely helpful in remembering what I was learning and kept me more accountable to my resolution. So, I wanted to share with you what I've found so far....
God is so bountiful in characteristics, that it's easy to discover 1 per day or even 1 per week. I have become so much more aware of God's presence around me and His impact in my daily life. I highly recommend it to all!

Dating Jesus
Hey All! I wanted to get out my New Year's Resolution before midnight tonight because I am very excited about it (and I have every intention of starting tomorrow - so I wanted to tell you about it first!).
This year I'm going to start dating! (*Pause for surprised/outraged/confused reaction). Dating Jesus that is. I've always been the kind of person who has never been able to stick to a devotional plan or follow through with "quiet time", but this year, 2012, is going to be the year I attempt to change all that.
When you're dating another person you take time to get to know them better, their "likes", "dislikes", personality, hobbies, etc. So that's my plan. I'm going to take this year (and when you think about it, I think I can devote a year of my life to God) and get to know Him better. I'm going to try to eliminate the time that I focus on dating, or trying to impress guys, and spend that time focusing on Jesus. Does that sound corny? I hope not, cause I really mean it!
Why on earth am I telling you all this? Maybe this will be an inspiration to some of you to get to know Him better yourself, but mostly I hope it will keep me accountable to my plan. If you see me walking in the halls at school or at church, please ask me "How's your New Year's Resolution going, Brooke?" Isn't that (keeping each other accountable) what we're suppose to be doing as Christians? I hope that you all can help me stick to my resolution this year. I plan on telling you what I am learning and discovering in God's word throughout this upcoming year! It's going to be very exciting, and I can't wait to share it with you all!!!
I've never been a person to set New Year's Resolutions, but I have to say -- I'm really excited about this! And, if it goes that way I hope it will go, 2012 will be a year of personal growth, learning more about my faith and Savior, Jesus Christ.
