The Desires of Your Heart

What do you want? I'm not just talking like a barbie dream house or pony.
What do you REALLY want, more than anything in the world?

I was flipping through my Bible the other day, and I came across Matthew 6: 19-24. This is where Jesus is talking to His disciples about storing up their treasures in Heaven, as opposed to earthly ones.

"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.  For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
(Matthew 6:19-21)

I started thinking about this. Could this apply to me? I may not be a greedy millionaire or have a sudden urge to roll around in all my money (not that I have any to roll around in anyway), but were do I put the desires of my heart? Have I put my relationship with God on the back burner and replaced my heart's desire with this ideal significant other?

I'm gonna play the "what if.." game again, like my previous post, Wedding Ideals. What if I never get married? I would spend all of my life running after something that will not fulfill me; something that will not bring me the happiness that I am seeking. I would waste my life searching for the perfect happy ending, when all along I could have been falling in love with my Maker, Jesus Christ.

Where do you place your heart's desires?
